Westbrook Undergoes Knee Surgery

Perennial all-star and MVP Russell Westbrook has reportedly underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, the team announced.

This standard estimate could see him miss all of training camp and possibly more should he require additional recovery time. Oklahoma City plays four preseason games beginning on October 3rd and lasting through the 9th. They will then open the season at Golden State on the 16th.

Missing the opener against the two-time defending champs and former teammate Kevin Durant may upset Westbrook, but there is no need to rush him back to the court if he isn’t ready to start the season.

Westbrook averaged 25.4 points, 10.3 assists, 10.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals across 36.4 minutes per game last season.
