Veteran Center and Former Warrior Zaza Pachulia Headed To Detroit

He may be notorious all around the league for his “dirty” style of play, especially the play that left Kawhi Leonard on the sideline for the remainder of the 2017 Western Conference Finals. Fast forward to now, Zaza Pachulia is a 2x NBA champion, and now the former Warrior is headed to Detroit.

Zaza Pachulia and the Detroit Pistons have agreed to a one-year deal worth $2.4M, according to Shams Charania.

In order to move forward with the deal, the Pistons have decided to waive Eric Moreland, per Vince Elis of The Detroit Free Press.

Zaza Pachulia played for Warriors for two seasons. During his time with Golden State, he averaged 5.7 PPG and 5.3 RPG. He also shot 54% from the field.

The 34 year old center knows how to defend aggressively and protect the rim. He can also be an efficient scorer inside the paint. He has good post game amongst many of the other centers in the league.

The Pistons have gained a back-to-back champion in Zaza Pachulia. Their frontcourt could use his efficient post-scoring and his defensive aggressiveness. With his championship DNA and veteran mindset, he should be a good backup center for the Pistons frontcourt.
