Sterling Brown Tazed, Arrested at Walgreens

According to Dan O’Donnell of 1130 WISN, police were ticketing Sterling Brown’s car this morning for being double-parked across two handicapped spaces when he confronted and became “combative” with the officers. He was then subdued with a taser and arrested for resisting arrest.

The 46th pick out of SMU has recently seen a substantial bump in playing time with Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined with a knee injury, including two games in the starting lineup. He’s shot an impressive 43% from behind the arc in 21 games with the Bucks this season, and seemed to have established himself as a role player for the rest of the season.

Milwaukee Police Sgt. Timothy Gauerke provided a statement about the arrest, although he didn’t specifically name Brown:

“Milwaukee Police were conducting a business check around 2:00 a.m. on January 26th at Walgreens located at S. 26th Street and W. National Avenue when they encountered a vehicle parked across two disability parking spaces. Officers spoke with a 22-year-old male and during the incident an electronic control device was deployed and the man was arrested. The circumstances of the incident and the use of force are currently being reviewed by the Department.”

There is still no word on Brown’s status for tonight’s home game against the Brooklyn Nets or if the team has taken any disciplinary measures. Lets hope this arrest is just an isolated incident for the rookie, as it is a lot more enjoyable watching Brown get hazed by Giannis.
