Raptors Ink Greg Monroe

The Toronto Raptors are reportedly signing Ex-Celtic Greg Monroe, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.

This is a good fit for Monroe, who, as of now, will only have to battle Jonas Valanciunas for minutes. Monroe is a proven starter, but has no problem contributing off the bench, as he did for the Bucks and Celtics last season.

For the Raptors, it shores up their murky depth chart at center following the departure of Jakob Poeltl (was part of the DeRozan/Kawhi trade). Lucas Nogueira, who played sparingly for Toronto last season (8.5 MPG), remains a free agent and is reportedly unlikely to re-sign.

Monroe averaged a combined 10.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists over 20.4 minutes per game with the Bucks, Suns and Celtics lasts season.
