NBA Twitter Reacts To Blake Griffin’s Child Support Order

on

Earlier this week, news broke that Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin was court ordered to pay his ex-girlfriend, Brynn Cameron, a hefty child support payment. The total monthly amount was set at $258,000 according to court documents obtained by Radar Online.

News of his monthly payment order set Twitter world ablaze, with players and fans from all over sounding off with their thoughts on the decision.

De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings poked fun of his own contract situation by tweeting out the following:

Spencer Dinwiddie of the Brooklyn Nets speculated about what Griffin’s children would purchase with the money:

Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards lamented for Griffin:

NBA fans and twitter users also had some colorful (and often hilarious) commentary on the matter:

After Twitter had their field day with the news, Griffin broke his silence and tweeted the following:

Presumably, this is in response to his reported child support order.

If the reports are true however, Griffin will pay $3,096,000 over the course of a year with this monthly rate. The NBA veteran’s minimum wage is $2,393,887 per season.

Griffin is set to earn $31,873,932 in his upcoming season with the Pistons and his salary cap hit will continue to increase up to $38,957,028 in the 2021-2022 season. That should help offset some of the sting of his newfound $280,000 monthly expense.
