Bucks Lead

Milwaukee, Time to Stand up or Shut up

Bucks Have A Lot To Prove

With the new season looming ahead, the excitement in Milwaukee has never been higher for their NBA team. A new head coach in Mike Budenholzer and with a superstar like Giannis Antetokounmpo, it is hard not to be excited for what’s to come. The time has come though, that progress not only needs to be made, but achievement must be higher. No more excuses can be made. It’s time for Milwaukee to not only reach the second round of the playoffs, but to become an actual contender as well.

It has been known for months now that with LeBron in the Western Conference, the East is up for grabs. The Bucks have been on the bubble of will they, or won’t they? If Milwaukee wants to be a legit threat, that can no longer be the question. Talent has never been higher in the NBA, so the Bucks will have to fight harder than they ever have before to get to the level in which the fans have wanted for a very long time.

MVP Or Bust?

It won’t be a bust if Antetokounmpo doesn’t win the MVP award at the end of this season, but he will need to perform at that level all season long. He is the heartbeat of this franchise and a lot falls on his shoulders on whether the Bucks succeed this season or not. Do not get me wrong, every player the roster needs to perform better than they ever had before. From Khris Middleton to Eric Bledsoe, these players must rise to the occasion and show that they are also players to watch besides Giannis.

Everyone Must Come Together

With the addition of center Brook Lopez to the team, the time to build chemistry must come quickly. A new system is another area in which the team must quickly adapt to. The regular season is long, but it goes by in the blink of an eye. The Bucks will not want to get to a point of them wondering where they stand in the league. They must convince not only themselves, but the rest of the league that they belong in the top four of the playoff standings. A lot is being asked of this team, but it is not unfair to do so. Years have passed in which the hype has been too much, it is time to finally put all the pieces together.

By the end of the season, it will be clear what will deem this team; a success or a failure. A top four seed in the Eastern Conference is the standard now, so there should be no reason the Bucks fall below that. Also, a second round playoff birth is a must as well. No more of these tough fought battles that end in first round exits to teams they can beat. The Bucks should aim higher than that though. The goal is always reaching the finals, but an Eastern Conference Finals appearance is not out of the question, especially with the talent that steps on the court. Time will tell what happens, but as the world spectates this team, it’s time to stand up or shut up.
