Klay Thompson Fractures Thumb

The injury bug continues to get worse for the Warriors.

With Steph Curry, Draymond Green, David West and Patrick McCaw all ruled out on Wednesday, ESPN’s Chris Haynes announced Wednesday morning that Klay Thompson suffered a fractured right thumb.

This isn’t as serious as it sounds, but it does hurt the Warriors for the immediate future, as they sit two games behind Houston for the top seed out west, and will have a tough time chasing them with a plethora of injuries. The main concern for the Warriors should not be the first seed, rather it should be making sure they are 100% healthy when the playoffs begin.

Thompson is averaging 19.7 points (49% FG, 44% 3Pt, 83% FT), 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists over 34.4 minutes per game this season. Klay has played and started in all 66 Warrior games this year, but his quest to play and start in all 82 will come to an abrupt end today.
