Isaiah Thomas to Make Season Debut Tuesday

on

The wait is finally over.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Isaiah Thomas will make his long awaited season debut Tuesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. This will be Thomas’ first game action since the trade that sent him, Jae Crowder, and Ante Zizic to Cleveland for All-Star Kyrie Irving. He missed the last two games of the Eastern Conference Finals and the first 36 games of this year recovering from a hip injury suffered last season.

Thomas recorded a career-high 28.9 points/game and 5.9 assists/game last season for Boston. Only LeBron James and Kevin Love have averaged more than 15 points/game this season. His return will hopefully energize a Cavs team that has lost 4 of its last 5 games. They currently sit 2 games behind Boston for the top seed out East, and with Derrick Rose and Iman Shumpert out, Thomas’s return is a welcome sight for Cleveland.

Thomas will have to wait until February for his chance to get back at the Celtics, as Ty Lue said he won’t play on Wednesday.
