Bucks’ Depth to Be Tested with Giannis, Others Likely Out

The Milwaukee Bucks (29-11) are currently in the nation’s capitol preparing for a Friday night game against the Washington Wizards (17-25). The 6 PM central time tip, however, will occur without the presence of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Yesterday, Giannis (quad soreness/hip contusion) was listed probable on the NBA’s official injury report, but has since been downgraded from probable to doubtful and now as of 4:35 PM Central Time, out.

A downgrade from probable to doubtful to out shows there was some sort of a setback this morning that will force him to miss tonight’s game. Giannis has missed only two games this season — Oct. 29th vs. Toronto, Dec. 10th vs. Cleveland — but the Bucks won both of those contests anyway.

Milwaukee’s depth may be especially challenged in tonight’s game, as five other Bucks have had injury designations going into today.

D.J. Wilson, Donte DiVincenzo and Christian Wood have all missed the past few games, so their availability could be limited. Eric Bledsoe’s hamstring ailment is new to everyone this morning, so his status will be monitored the closest.

UPDATE (4:50 PM CT): Giannis and Donte officially ruled out, Ilyasova/Bledsoe/Wilson/Wood are available.
