Milwaukee Blows Out Sacramento 144-109

After their first loss of the season last Thursday against the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee bounced back Sunday afternoon against the youthful Sacramento Kings. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with his second triple-double of the season (26 points, 15 rebounds, 11 assists). The Greek Freak also showed that if he’s coming down the court full throttle, it’s probably best to move out of the way.

Being the only team in the league that is top five in both offensive and defensive efficiency, the Bucks took care of business in the Fiserv Forum to remain top dogs in the Eastern Conference. As most know, there isn’t much of an answer on how to cover Giannis, and the Kings seemed to be clueless on how to cover anyone else. Sacramento had won five in a row coming into Sunday, but the Bucks made sure that number stopped at five.

Records Are Meant To Be Broken

Coming off last game where the Bucks did not shoot well beyond the arc (9 for 29), they changed the narrative and drained 22 three pointers– a franchise record. Eight players finished with double digits, including four of the games’ starters. In a game that did not bring much competition, Milwaukee never let off the gas, improving to 8-1 on the season.

Onto The Wild Wild West

Sunday’s victory should lead to much-needed confidence as the Bucks head west to take on several dangerous opponents. It all begins Tuesday, as Milwaukee travels to Portland to take on Damian Lillard and the Trail Blazers. A tough team no doubt, but the big matchup comes Thursday night on TNT, where the Bucks will enter the Oracle to take on the Golden State Warriors. It shall be a test to see where we match up when it comes to the back-to-back NBA Champions. It won’t be easy to try and overcome all the threats Golden State imposes, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. The busy week concludes with a back-to-back weekend set against the Clippers and Nuggets. We will get to see what this Bucks team is really made of– and right now, it looks like contenders.
